Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Grasped, including the Grasped website, application, features, content, and related services.
Grasped is an educational study platform designed to help students prepare for New York State Regents exams. Grasped is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by the New York State Education Department, the Board of Regents, or any school district.
By accessing or using Grasped, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use Grasped.
1. Use of Grasped
Grasped is provided for educational and informational purposes. You may use Grasped to study, answer practice questions, review topics, track progress, and access related study features.
You agree to use Grasped only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
2. Eligibility
Grasped may be used by students, parents, guardians, teachers, and other individuals interested in educational study resources.
If you are under 13 years old, you should use Grasped only with permission from a parent, guardian, teacher, or school.
If you use Grasped on behalf of a school, organization, or other entity, you are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with any rules, policies, or legal requirements that apply to that school, organization, or entity.
3. Accounts and Sign-In
Some features of Grasped may require an account. Grasped may allow users to sign in using Google single sign-on or another supported authentication method.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for any activity that occurs through your account. You should not share access to your account with others.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your account information current where applicable.
Grasped does not receive your Google password when you sign in using Google single sign-on.
4. Educational Content
Grasped may provide practice questions, answer choices, explanations, topic labels, performance summaries, and other educational materials.
Grasped aims to provide useful and accurate study materials, but it does not guarantee that all content will be complete, accurate, current, or error-free.
You should not rely on Grasped as your only source of study or exam preparation. You should also use official materials, className materials, teacher guidance, and other reliable resources.
5. No Guarantee of Results
Grasped is designed to support studying and exam preparation, but it does not guarantee any specific grade, exam score, academic result, admission result, or other outcome.
Your academic performance depends on many factors, including preparation, instruction, effort, prior knowledge, test conditions, and the specific exam or assignment.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Grasped. You may not:
- Use Grasped for any unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purpose
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to Grasped, its servers, databases, accounts, or related systems
- Attempt to access another user’s account or information without permission
- Use automated tools, bots, scraping, or similar methods to access or copy Grasped in a way that burdens or abuses the service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from Grasped except where permitted by law
- Submit false, misleading, harmful, defamatory, abusive, harassing, or inappropriate content
- Use Grasped to cheat on active exams, quizzes, assignments, or assessments where outside help is not allowed
- Copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit Grasped or its content without permission
- Use Grasped in a way that violates these Terms or harms other users
7. User Content and Feedback
Grasped may allow users to submit feedback, issue reports, support requests, messages, or other content.
You are responsible for any content you submit. You should not submit content that you do not have the right to share, or content that contains sensitive personal information.
By submitting feedback or other content to Grasped, you give Grasped permission to use, store, process, and review that content as needed to operate, maintain, support, and improve the service.
8. Intellectual Property
Grasped, including its design, software, interface, branding, features, organization, and original content, is owned by Grasped or its creator unless otherwise stated.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of Grasped or any Grasped intellectual property to you.
You may use Grasped for personal educational purposes, subject to these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, host, or create derivative works based on Grasped or its content unless you have permission or unless the law allows it.
9. Third-Party Services
Grasped may rely on third-party services for authentication, hosting, deployment, analytics, databases, storage, security, or related functionality.
These third-party services may include:
- Google, for single sign-on and authentication
- Supabase, if used for authentication, database, or storage functionality
- Vercel, for hosting, deployment, and analytics
Your use of third-party services may also be subject to those services’ own terms, policies, and privacy practices.
10. Privacy
Grasped’s collection and use of information is described in the Grasped Privacy Policy. By using Grasped, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
11. Service Availability
Grasped may be updated, changed, interrupted, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
Grasped does not guarantee that the service will always be available, secure, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Grasped may remove or change features, content, or functionality as needed for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or product improvement.
12. Account Suspension or Termination
Grasped may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the service if Grasped reasonably believes that you have violated these Terms, created risk for the service or other users, abused the service, or used the service in an unlawful or harmful way.
You may stop using Grasped at any time.
13. Disclaimers
Grasped is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grasped makes no warranties or representations about the service, including warranties that Grasped will be accurate, complete, reliable, current, secure, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Grasped is an educational study aid and is not a replacement for teachers, official curriculum, official exam materials, or professional educational guidance.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grasped and its creator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Grasped.
This includes, but is not limited to, damages related to lost data, lost opportunities, academic results, exam performance, service interruptions, errors, or unauthorized access.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Grasped and its creator from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of Grasped, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
16. Changes to These Terms
Grasped may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are made, the updated Terms will be posted with a new effective date.
Continued use of Grasped after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
